A Dunedin backpackers has an available room listed for almost $1000 a night, as thousands of fans flock to the city before the Red Hot Chili Peppers concert.
But those struggling to find a room in what appears to be an almost sold-out city are told to not pay over the odds as there are still reasonably priced rooms available.
More than 25,000 fans are expected to attend Thursdays concert under the roof at Forsyth Barr Stadium.

The room includes two beds and access to a shared bathroom.
But one place that did have accommodation was Stafford Gables, a backpackers in the citys CBD.
Several sites listed a room with two single beds, no breakfast and access to a shared bathroom for up to $998 a night.
Trivago has it for $996 while Trip.com has it for $996.
A spokesperson for the backpackers told Stuff any booking queries should be done online. When asked what site, she replied Agoda.
The Singaporean-based site listed several rooms at the Stafford St backpackers for $653. That price dropped to $160 the following day.
Dunedin i-Site visitor centre manager, Louise van de Vlierd, said while third-party booking sites made it look like the city was full, that wasnt the case.

It was worth noting that every time there was a major event in Dunedin the city appeared booked out months in advance, but changes happen right at the last minute.
Those wanting a room should contact the i-Site rather than booking through a third-party site, she said.

It comes after Stuff revealed dozens of fans were able to source free tickets to the concert after an online error by Ticketmaster.
The company confirmed 50 complimentary tickets were snapped up on Monday.
